From tomboy to girly girl
We always joke that Sophie has proven to be the boy we never had. She climbed on top of the piano before she could walk, she is into everything, she likes playing with trucks and balls, she loves electronic gadgets and did I mention she was scaling furniture before she could walk? Not that these are bad things, they just surprised me somewhat, because my other two were so much more girly in their choice of toys and activities.
Lately, though, Sophie has started exploring her feminine side a little more. She started to play with babies instead of cars, and loves to give the dolls their bottles and blankets and put them in the stroller and cart them around. She started to be super concerned with what she's wearing and prefers pretty dresses to jeans and a t-shirt. She started to take more of an interest in books and drawing, something she didn't seem to have time for before with all of the pictures she was taking with my cell phone.
She has started to play dress-up (Excuse my vacuum):
And finally, she has started to be very interested in Mommy's make-up (notice she is studiously not looking at me, because if she doesn't, it means that I don't notice that she has something she's not supposed to have. I had to get right in her face to get the second photo):
Now these are things I'm totally used to my children doing. These are things I know how to deal with. And if I ever do get a real, live, actual boy I'm pretty sure I'll be clueless.

Ha! So what does it mean if you have a boy who likes to sneak in your makeup?! He likes to do himself and then his sister. . .
Love the beads and the bracelets, but most of all the mis-matched dress up shoes. Girls. Aren't they delightful?!
HA! Love that she is 'turning around' but don't be surprised if it switches again! :)
As for a real life boy - I have a feeling it may not be in your cards. You and Joel are great parents to girls!!

Tomboyish or not, that child is way too cute!!!!!!! (I'm sure I've said it before, but what can I do? It's TRUE!) I was wondering the same thing as Lacey! :-)
Kanoa was the opposite. Instead of cars, he like makeup early on-but, now he's a full blown boy. Maybe when we get to our fourth & we get the same gender again, we'll just do a little swap?
...Oh, and this is assuming that our third is another boy, which we'll know soon.

What a cutie! I love the lipstick. I remember thinking Sariah was just as bad as any boy... that is until I had a boy!
AHHH she CRACKS me up everytime I read about her.... I really MISS those days!!! I LOVE the two different dress up shoes..!! and the make-up... well.... she tried.. LOL LOL.. What a cutie!!
I thought Sophia split her lip open! How funny that she's into makeup already. My pregnancy announcement was in my list of 100 things. Have a great Easter!
I guess grappa is gonna have to come down there and show you how to get those cheap kites in the air.

I have a tom boy, but she has recently started sporting a girly get up. I have noticed she is a little less emotional than my girlie girls. Which is welcomed by me! Your little one looks so cute.
