It's spring break and I have no chef

So, I've been lacking any real chef these last few weeks, and it truly shows in my posts and my commenting habits.

Chef, by the way, is a Romanian word (pronounced kef). It has no wonderful English translation, which is why I have to use it. It sort of means motivation or desire. And I definitely don't have it. I blame the winter blahs, as I usually feel this way every year just before spring makes her grand entrance. It's that hibernation thing.

Spring break is this week. Only for me. The University and the School District obviously don't communicate with one another, so I have all this time off from teaching, and yet Joel and the girls still have to go to school.

I'll be using the free time to find some chef. And it isn't likely I'll be finding it on the computer because the computer is a chef-sucker, especially when I'm feeling like this. So, while I'll miss you (and hope you'll miss me), I won't be around for the rest of the week.

Farewell, my lovelies, and I'll see you all when the chef has found me. Keep your fingers crossed that it will!

Yeah, the computer really can be a chef sucker, can't it?

Hope you enjoy your time away. When I've done that, even though I miss it, it's always hard to get back on the computer! :)

I hope you find some motivation. Maybe just getting out in the nice weather or do something that you have wanted to do for a while.

Best of luck with your search!

I've lost mine, too. Good luck finding yours!

I'll certainly miss you. Have a great week off.

The computer is a chef-sucker, and I keep debating whether I should unplug permanently since it is clear that it's an all or nothin' thing for me.

Good luck! I don't have any, but I have to fake it--I don't know how many productive days I have left!

I'll raise my glass to your chef - and look for my own.

Good luck to us both.

I like that word! Going to have to use it now.

It's similar to the Finnish "jaksa" (with the J making a Y sound and both As as ah). It means you just don't have the physical strength to do something.

I don't jaksa to do the laundry or go grocey shopping or mop the kitchen floor.

Oh, a week away from the computer? Is that even possible?

Let me know how it goes. :)

So the first thing that pops into my head is that there isn't an English translation because we don't have any motivation or desire:)

I thought you meant no "cooking chef" and I'm like, "well, DON'T look at me!" lol

School districts here don't communicate either (AZ being even stupider than Utah). I'm back on after last week being off. Christian and Mikelle had last week off AND this week off. Florence has THIS week PLUS next week off. Can't anything coordinate? Seriously.

EVERY TIME you write a blog about your chef, I think -- what's happened to Joel?
I have no chef. I think the baby shoved it under it (see today's post).

Best of luck on your chef hunt. This hibernation thing really does exhaust me.

You enjoy the hunt for your chef! See you when you get back!

Maybe if you hired a chef (American work this time) for one night...that will inspire you. Good food has magical abilites as far as I'm concerned.

I'm glad you put the "definition" because after reading your first sentence I was trying to figure out if there was a typo, or I was just seeing things funny because it's very late and my eyes aren't seeing clearly.

Honestly, by the post title, I thought you meant Joel was out of town and unable to cook for you. ;)

I'm coming over from Blog Stalkers Unite, asking for your help. I am in the running for a round trip airfare paid ticket to Connecticut, to meet a friend I became acquainted with through blogging. She is a super fun person and is holding this contest. I entered a funny story titled "Grapejuice Floaties, Now Marry Me." The person whose story receives the most votes will win a trip to meet this generous lady, whom I'm hoping to meet. The voting ends tonight I believe. I am ahead for now but there is a story coming up from behind out of nowhere and I would so, so, appreciate your help. Her blog is www.becausemomsaidso.blogspopt.com and the voting is on the sidebar on the right. "Grapejuice, Floaties" Just go there and cast a vote for me, please. Thanks so much-you're awesome! ♥
